Since the 1990s, there has been a broad supply of cardiac catheter laboratories in Germany. If someone has a heart attack, it is examined there sooner or later – depending on the findings. If a constriction or even a blockage is found in one of the large coronary vessels, it is possible to dilate the blood vessel and keep it open with a so-called stent.
