Many patients are diagnosed with diabetes around five years before a malignant tumor occurs. Of course, not every diabetic gets cancer, but the probability does increase significantly. In the same way, in many patients in whom a tumor is found, it is possible to detect insulin resistance that may not yet have been diagnosed (because it hardly causes any symptoms at first). So there is this link between insulin resistance and cancer development. What exactly do studies say, what could be the reasons?
