When looking for reasons for cancer, doctors will often talk about genes and bad coincidences that lead to mutations. If you ask anyone on the street, the most common believe is that such mutations are often triggered by radioactive radiation, which is why our society is terrified of radioactivity. First of all, while it is true that radioactivity causes cancer, it is fortunately rare. Apart from increased age, one factor is much more important: Overweight. It causes far more cancer than any known toxin, any radiation exposure, any inherited diseases combined!
