Arteriosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease that is kept being fueled by oxidized cholesterol. Arteriosclerosis leads to vascular diseases such as heart attacks and strokes. Arteriosclerosis is a life-long disease. Its early forms can already be detected in children. Arteriosclerosis is an unavoidable disease; everyone will get it at some point - unless he or she dies of another cause before then. The aim of lifestyle and therapy is to shift disease-related events and the progression of arteriosclerosis as far back as possible.
