Multiple studies are now available that have investigated the effect of deuterium-reduced water on the growth of various cancer cells. Patients often drank deuterium-reduced water during their therapy. It appeared that this led to reduced tumor growth and prolonged life. However, these results should not be interpreted too hastily: The studies were often small and their design was not optimal. Further large-scale studies are needed to make substantiated statements about a possible anti-cancer effect.
